What's with all the different skin colors?

A question from one of my skeptic friends (and by skeptic I mean someone who really knows God exists but loves his sin so much he does not want to humble himself and will keep throwing out arguments that quiet his conscience before he will humble himself in front of a holy God).

"So if we are descended from Adam and Eve, might I inquire as to why we are not all one skin color?"

That's a great question. The Bible has a clear answer for it, like many other things people just assume could not fit in The Bible. This is one of many great examples how science and The The Bible go hand in hand to explain this world we live in.

There is an incident in The Bible called the Tower of Babel. At this point God split the people up and gave them different languages. People were confined to mate with those in their geographical area that shared their common language. Anytime you restrict the amount of people you breed with, you end up making a like kind. It causes traits that are specific to their people group, that also adapt to their geographical location, have a like skin color. It's just what you would expect with adaptation and micro-evolution, which Christians agree is good science. We just don't think crocodiles turned into birds. Also the genetic information was much richer with the earlier people, since we are all dying out and losing information which is scientific law (just the opposite of evolution, and what we see when we observe this world).

Also, we actually only have one skin color on Earth. All humans (except albinos) have a pigment in their skin called “melanin.” There are two forms of this pigment that give skin its color. People who are “black” have a lot of melanin and those who are light only have a little of this pigment. Actually, the majority of people in the world are “middle brown.”

Romans 10:3 - For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.
